Vaccinations

Current vaccinations are for the safety of our pets and groomers. By accepting this agreement, pet owners verify that their pets are current on rabies, distemper, canine parvovirus (CPV) within the past 12 months prior to any and all grooming sessions.

Fleas & Ticks

Fleas and Ticks
If you suspect that your pet has fleas, prompt and thorough action on your part is needed. Flea infestation can lead to tapeworm and other health problems.

If fleas are found during the grooming process, Praying Paws will provide a flea bath without additional charge on the first visit. During subsequent visits, Praying Paws will apply an additional (minimum $15) charge for treatment if flea problems persist. If ticks are found on your pet they will be removed for additional charge. In the event of tick infestation, we strongly recommend prompt examination by a veterinarian. Tick and flea infestations may pose serious risk to your pet’s life and/or health.

Health & Medical Problems

Grooming procedures can sometimes be stressful, especially for a senior pet or pets with health problems and can expose hidden medical problems or aggravate a current medical issue during or after the grooming session. Praying Paws will make the grooming experience as relaxing as possible for your pet and will monitor for signs of discomfort. If your pet shows signs of stress or discomfort at any time in our care, we will let you know.

Skin conditions such as bumps, patches, or discoloration may be caused by allergies or various types of bacterial infections such as yeast or fungus. Some conditions (e.g. staphylococcus-bacteria) are very common and can spread in many ways. Owners agree to notify Praying Paws of any known existing skin conditions that may pose a risk to other clients and their pets prior to grooming.

Praying Paws may refuse to groom pets that exhibit potentially hazardous skin conditions until the pet(s) condition is treated appropriately.

Aggressive or Dangerous Pets

Owners MUST inform Praying Paws if your pet(s) bite, have bitten, or are aggressive to people, other pets, or specific grooming procedures.

Praying Paws reserves the right to refuse or stop services for your pet at any time before, during, or after the grooming process if your pet becomes aggressive or puts themselves at risk of injury during the grooming process. The health and safety of all of our clients is our top priority.

If we feel the safety or well-being of your pet or our groomer requires it, a muzzle may be used, or services may be discontinued or refused. If your pet bites or otherwise injures Praying Paws staff, the owner agrees to be responsible for any and all related medical bills, recovery costs, loss of income, and equipment damage.

Accidents

There is always a possibility that an accident may occur. Praying Paws will use utmost caution in ALL situations; however, grooming equipment is sharp and may cause nicks, scratches, quicking of nails, etc. This is especially true when pets move or struggle during the grooming process. Once your pet is in our care, it is very important that you not call their name or contribute to excited behavior which can be dangerous to them. Every effort will be made to prevent, avoid, or mitigate risks to your pet.
